Lymphedema is an accumulation of lymphatic fluid that causes swelling in the arms or legs.

Lymphedema is commonly caused from either removing or damaging lymph nodes but in the Western world we often see, phlebolymphedema, which is a combination of venous insufficiency and lymphatic insufficiency.
