Dr. James McNeil will retire from CVT Surgical Center at the end of June after a 29-year career as a vascular surgeon. The Shreveport native and Louisiana State University alumnus spent the past 16 years at CVT Surgical Center.
Dr. McNeil graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge before attending medical school at LSU in New Orleans. He completed his residency at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL, where he was the chief surgery resident from 1993 to 1994. His fellowship in the division of vascular surgery brought him back to Louisiana at the LSU Medical Center in New Orleans from 1994 to 1995.
In 1995, Dr. McNeil earned his certification in general surgery from the American Board of Surgery, followed by his vascular surgery certification in 1996, renewed in 2004. In 1997, he received his vascular technology certification as a registered vascular technologist.
In addition to being a practicing surgeon, Dr. McNeil also received teaching appointments as a clinical instructor in vascular surgery at the LSU School of Medicine and Earl K. Long Hospital in 1995. He is also a member of the following professional societies:

Dr. James McNeil is married to his wife, Julie, and has two children, Christopher and Rachel.
