Hybrid treatment of carotid disease is a combination of minimally invasive treatment and conventional open surgery. This does involve an incision in the base of the neck and the placement of a stent within the artery. Additionally, it requires a one night hospital stay. Like minimally invasive treatment, this is reserved for a select patient population.
